Instructions
  1. Begin by removing your frozen salmon from its packaging. No need to thaw overnight.
  2. Place your salmon on a trivet. I was able to place two large salmon filets on one layer. Or you can get a second trivet to layer them.
  3. Add 1 cup of water to your Instant Pot.
  4. Check the sealing ring, close the lid, and select MANUAL for 4 minutes.
  5. Once the program is complete, you can do a quick release (which could risk drying out your salmon) or allow the pin to drop naturally (which usually takes mine 2-4 minutes… surprisingly fast for IP recipes).
  6. DO NOT ALLOW YOUR SALMON TO HANG OUT ON KEEP WARM FOR LONG AFTER THE PIN DROPS. This will cause it to dry out.
  7. Remove from the trivet and plate immediately.
Recipe Notes
  • If you’re looking for creative ways to serve your salmon, you can use mini loaf pans (stacking them) with a marinade (like 1/4 cup teriyaki or soy sauce)According to Rich Lum, you’ll need to up your time to 8 minutes.
  • If you need to cook more filets than you can fit on one layer, you can also get a second trivet to help layer them.
  • Your sealing ring will retain the odor of fish. I recommend getting a spare sealing ring dedicated to more aromatic dishes.

Low FODMAP Diet Note: Make sure that whatever sauces you use are low FODMAP friendly. As always, check the Monash FODMAP app for recommended serving/portion size.
